Michael Adesola
MD/CEO
Adesola Adeyemi Michael is Managing Director/CEO of Belema Financial Technology Limited, a CBN-licensed payment switching and processing institution operating across Nigeria. He provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for the ₦2 billion-capitalised company, overseeing partnerships with commercial banks, VISA, Mastercard, Verve, NIBSS, and NAMB.
He led Belema to secure its CBN Payment Switching and Processing Licence and launch the Belema Payment Switch, a national inter-bank transfer infrastructure connecting Nigerian financial institutions. He now drives the company's Pan-African expansion through multi-currency payment gateway partnerships and digital banking products for financial institutions and government agencies.
With over 13 years in banking and fintech, Michael Adesola has worked with foremost leading institutions like Firstbank Nigeria Limited and Unified Payment Services Limited among others, He holds an MSc. in Data Science from the prestigious Pan-Atlantic University.
Sandipan De
VP Technology
Sandipan De brings over 21 years of experience across IT products and services, including work with multiple Fortune 500 organisations in insurance, healthcare and payments. He started out as a programmer, moved into design, and went on to architect distributed systems. His hands-on work covers production systems built with Spring Boot and JPA, distributed service patterns, Jenkins CI/CD release pipelines, and Kubernetes deployments via Spinnaker. He has run production environments processing over a million transactions a day, and has solved the concerns that come with that scale: rate limiting, backpressure, resiliency and idempotency. His platform experience spans AWS, OCI and hybrid models. At Belema Financial Technology, Sandipan leads the Engineering Division, where he is responsible for the engineering quality, stability and maturity of products across payment gateways, virtual accounts, money movement, direct debits and mobile banking. His goal is to deliver both deterministic and predictive solutions for fintech requirements — customer first, reliable, and optimised using the best of what technology offers today. Outside work, Sandipan is a car enthusiast and avid traveller. His current project car is a 2016 Abarth Punto, though he prefers his VW Tiguan for long-distance drives.
Oluwatobi Taiwo
Operations Manager
A forward-thinking manager combining deep computer engineering fundamentals with strategic fintech operations experience. Known for an analytical and detail-oriented problem solving personality, he is recognized by peers for strong technical diligence, collaborative leadership, and a commitment to operational excellence. In Belema Fintech, he's helped to champion the customer service unit improving customers satisfaction by over 70%, and has helped in ensuring product improvements with cross-functional teams as recommended both by customers and from internal usage.
Uloma Nlemadim
Head of Product
Uloma is a fintech product leader with experience spanning product strategy, digital banking, payments and financial technology. She leads product development at Belema Fintech, driving the design and delivery of innovative financial solutions that bridge business needs, technology and customer experience. With a strong background in business analysis and product management, Uloma has worked across digital banking, savings and investment products, USSD, payment solutions and POS. She is passionate about building simple, scalable and customer-focused products that improve access to financial services and create measurable business value.
